Saturday...

Thinking about what I am going to crochet or knit this morning. Most importantly, my coffee starts the day. It's been a long stressful week. I am now working 4 hours per day at my job. The reduction in hours is not my idea. This is something that I have to adjust to and I'm not liking it financially. I am sending out resumes to find something to fill in the afternoon hours or maybe something to take the place of that job. I say that job because it's been a long year at that job. So,with that being said... I am looking maybe for new beginnings?
I have been trying to focus on my Etsy Shop this week. I've been busy making cowls and infinity scarves. It's getting cold out so these are perfect for the season!
Of course the bearded beanies have been big sellers the past few years. I sell the pattern or I make them. I'm hoping to sell a lot of these again this year. So comfy and warm!
Of course I will use one of these for the upcoming soccer games! I'm excited, my daughter Courtney made Varsity! She's worked really hard and it's paid off. I know last year it was freezing out at the games!

We'll... Time to get busy!  Happy Saturday everyone!

Relaxing but handmade busy weekend ...

https://www.etsy.com/listing/163917759/camouflage-bearded-beanie-camo-beard-hat?
So this weekend I was busy making beard beanies. These are camo beanies which have been a big seller so far this year.Yesterday after the soccer game I came home and crocheted all day while watching SOA season one on Netflix. I took a break so I could watch Revenge on ABC. Then back to Netflix. Now on to season 2. I am beginning to understand this show now.

Individually packages and ready for large envelopes.

Don't these look delicious! I dropped Couetney off at practice on Saturday morning and had to stop by Vallarta market to pick up some sweet breads. Oh yes, they were yummy!

I can remember when I was young... My mom would often buy some of these candies. Nope, didn't buy any. Too sweet!

I love being able to stay home on the weekends. I love to cook. I made albondigas soup and homemade tortillas. Delicious!

Went to Courtney's soccer game on Sundy morning... Great job Fusion!

Of course I had my crochet with me. I don't leave my house without my work in progress basket!

Of course another stop by Vallarta market to get some more sweet breads. I ate one while watching the game. So this week should be busy at work. The shop is getting items completed this week for a trade show in Florida.

Make it a great week! I'm busy with orders fromy Etsy Shop! It's the holiday shopping season!

Soccer Saturday!

Beautiful day here at Cherry Island in Antelope, CA! Thanks to my quick reactions... I was able to grab my camera and snap a pic! Not too shabby!
I haven't knitted in awhile. I am making a knitted cowl to add to my Etsy shop so I brought out the big needles! Makes knitting go quicker!
Having a little snack and my parent's house before the next game. My favorite type of lunch! Yum!
Bright and cheery crochet garland. Add's color to any room.  Something new in my Etsy shop! More picks coming later... my parents are taking Courtney and I to Apple Farm. I hear there are crafts..... woo hoo!!!

At work! It's TGIF!

TGIF! Woot Woot! I am so excited to say that I'm really excited to be home this weekend... no travel baseball and no travel soccer this weekend! Coffee on the patio tomorrow morning!
So this morning, I am here at work... at Monster City Studios in Fresno, CA. Busy checking my email and prioritizing what must be accomplished today by 4:30pm.
Monster City Studios is a unique place to work. We have very talented artists that create on a daily basis. What is Monster City Studios? We do theming. Customers call us to create a display or a scene at their place of business. Amusement parks, Zoo's, events, and more. So let me show you some of the creative stuff that goes on around here.
This is a hand sculpted creation that James Powell made here at Monster City Studios. Doesn't this little guy look real? It's molded out of clay. That's faux fern that's about 1" in length.

Here is the bottom section of the model piece. The stone looks real... amazing stuff James Powell! I will tell you that James can be a bit weird at times.... well a lot of times!
This is a pic of the front side of the clay model. As you can see, it's not very big as it is sitting on our conference table here at Monster City Studios. That is not real bamboo... James made the bamboo.
Here is a pic of the other side. As you can see, it's not completely painted. This is just a scale of something much larger to be made. Again, it's all hand sculpted.
This too is handmade by James Powell. Lots of detail.
A dog house. Yes, for someone's special dog. It's currently being repainted. If you would like one of these dog houses... you can purchase on Etsy.
James at work setting something up to be cut on the mill.
Andy. Another artist here at Monster City Studios. His drawing is amazing! This week he has been painting this California Map. Crazy how the mill will cut out detail ... look at those mountains!
Yes, the blue areas are water.
James is crazy.
Monster City Studios front office. I work with animals!

So, again, I am looking forward to the weekend. Baseball tourney here in Fresno. Maybe some pizza and beer afterwards.. I'm in! Oh and Fresno State Women's Soccer Saturday night... should be fun! I still have lots of stuff to put away since we moved almost a month ago. Gosh, moving is so tiring!

Make it a great weekend!

Just another Tuesday...

Over the weekend I sported my Baseball Flip Flops! I love these!

After all I am a baseball mom who is my sons biggest fan. I think at times he thinks I bug him. Oh well what are moms for anyways? Nice weather, good friends and baseball.

Soccer is another sport I love! My daughter is on a U16 club team and the travels have begun. One thing I love about soccer... You can sit where you want. Stretch your legs and its outside. I am also my daughters biggest soccer fan.

Oh the joys of moving! Not! I am dreading the move but I am excited that we are moving to a house that has a pool. Free cooling off! I know for 5 years my kids have missed the backyard pool. I have to admit..  I miss it too. It's fun family entertainment and relaxation in our own backyard. Hopefully this neighborhood is better than the one we are in now. I'm looking forward to the larger backyard so I can have our friends over for potlucks. I used to do this at our old house. So for now I need to start boxing up stuff. And yes I have a lot of stuff! My yarn alone will take up 6 boxes at least!

Thinking I may do some more variations of new flip flops. In the warm weather, what's not to love about flip flops!

Have a wonderful day.... Until the next post!

It's Monday and it's 2012...

So I have been up since 6:30 am thinking about the new year.

I've decided that I need to start designing a few more items for my Etsy shop. After the holiday rush, mailing out 36 caps with beards... I think It's time to get busy again. Yes, my fingers were about to fall off but I survived. My goal for this week is 4 new designs. Yes I will do it... I need to keep on track.

Christmas stuff needs to be put away today. No exceptions. For some reason the tree we picked out this this year was so dry. Why? I love to keep the tree lit through new years but couldn't this year to prevent a house fire. This is the kids last day of holiday break so they can help me put it all away.

My new Erin Condren planner is ready to go, filled with soccer and baseall games for the upcoming spring season. Well, soccer is happening now. Can't wait for Wednesday's soccer game. It's been two weeks of break and I need a game! Good luck Courtney and Buchanan against Clovis North this week. Kind of hoping Courtney will think about trying out for softball after soccer but I don't think that's a go. Oh well.

Oh yeah, if you don't have a planner for 2012, stop on over to http://www.erincondren.com and order yourself one. Seriously, I can say I have finally found the perfect planner. You really don't want to know how many planners I have purchased over the years. None of them have worked out. So, get yourself one. What's so special you ask... How about personalization or you pick the cover. I say no more. You just get over there and get yourself one. They are in Cali down south so you'll get it quick!

Pinterest. Have you heard of it? If not get yourself over there at http://www.pinterest.com . I made a couple of yummy foods for New Years Eve and all of the recipes and ideas came from Pinterest. The amazing photos and links people post are awesome. Once you request to joiin, which is free by the way, you will get an email saying you are accepted in about two days. You must do this now. Seriously.

Family. This year I will take photos all of the time when I am around family and sporting events. I want to make sure we capture the moments, soccer goals, home runs, grand kids, etc. I don't want to miss anything. My kids have grown up so fast, I just wonder where the time has gone. Nw my grand kids are growing and becoming cute little people. Since my son Ryan lives about 2 hours away in my hometown, it's kind of hard to spend time with his two kids. This year I hope to get over there to see them more often, my other son Steven is in law school at Santa Clara law so pi need to take some trips to San Jose to visit with him. He was at University of Arizona for four years so we didn't see much of him. Gina, my oldest daughter. She is in Salinas really needs to move back to our area. I really do miss her. Trisha, l
Dom, Courtney and Chase are here in Clovis so I can bug them anytime I want! Ha! Life is too short so spending time with family is important!

Organization... I need to get my bedroom, office and garage in order. We just need a bigger place!

Well, ready to tackle the New Year. I think it's time to start the day off right! Thinking some exercise!

Happy New Years everyone... Make it a great year!

Good Morning Saturday!

The sun is out and I am ready for soccer today! Taking my knitting along with me! I just finished another crochet headband.

*If you would like a copy of the crochet headband above... I will email it to you. Simply, LIKE my new Facebook Page - Busy Family Life (box in left column) and FOLLOW me here on Google Connect. I will then send you a pdf. I will be sending out on Wednesday this coming week.

Since I am putting together a FALL BOUTIQUE in November, I am thinking I could sell some headbands. I have enough yarn so I might as well! If you live in the Fresno/Clovis area, please contact me if you are interested in participating in my FALL BOUTIQUE.

I will be taking my knitting in my Thirty-One Square Utility Tote. I love this tote because it stays open, doesn't collapse!

Also taking a Tastefully Simple Taco Cheese Ball for Courtney and her friends to eat between games today. I had a Open House last weekend and the girls loved it! I have to order a few of them because they will be going away with the Summer catalog in 2 weeks. I love it too so I am thinking I am making 2 of them today. Also signing up Caesar with Tastefully Simple... the kit is 50% off right now and his Tastefully Simple Open party credits can go towards the cost! Woo Hoo! Might only cost $39 instead of $189! Looking forward to that!

Check out my new post for Tastefully Simple Chocolate Ugly Cake...

Have a wonderful weekend everyone...

Something I Love...

Happy Thursday everyone! I am getting excited today... I am leaving tomorrow to Tastefully Simple on Tour in Garden Grove, CA. It will be nice to get away with my upline and fellow consultants. I can't wait to taste the New Spring/Summer line products from the New catalog! That's right... the New Tastefully Simple Catalog is out in a few weeks! I was busy working my calendar this morning to make room for taste-testing parties. I love these parties, seeing the expressions of the guests as they try each item! Everyone loves everything! Kind of bummed that I will miss my daughters FCC Softball doubleheader on Saturday. I seriously thought of not going down south but there will be more games! I am just game crazy!  My son in Tucson, AZ texted me this morning to tell me that he is making Tastefully Simple Bountiful Beer Bread. So yummy and easy!

Spring is the busiest time for us in our house. Last night I was busy designing a new Crochet Headband Earwarmer. The sun is out shining and the weather has been warming up so I thought i'd make more designs of these that have a lace look. Here's what I came up with. I will be putting together after I get home later from taking my daughter to her dentist appointment. The part I dislike... weaving in the strands later. Why didn't I just do that last night.

Have a Happy Thursday everyone! Tomorrow I will be featuring different items from Etsy shops. If you are interested in having your items featured, please let me know on your comment.
